At the time, Bilkent was the new and up-and-coming university of Turkey and as I had already decided to try and teach design after 4 years of learning it, this seemed ideal. This post also afforded me the luxury of being able to research and "fool-around" with design without the constraints of commercial pressures. Here I taught Basic Design, Typography and software packages such as Ready-Set-Go, Photoshop, Freehand, LetraStudio and Fontographer to undergraduates. I also managed to do some free-lance print work for two ad agencies during this time.

ACHIEVEMENT: I gained vital experience in the teaching of design which helped me later on to train staff and to direct their efforts.
